Knicks backed out of meeting with Leonard

While the Lakers appear to be at the forefront of the free agency pursuit of Leonard, it remains a question mark as to whether they'll be able to emerge as the victor.

The Raptors were keeping the talks under close wraps, as Leonard's camp had evidently insisted.

While most of the big names have made their deals, either signing with new teams or getting a big payday from their old one, Leonard has remained on the sidelines of free agency. Although it's not exactly something many fans will opt to brag about.

The Clippers overachieved last season, winning 48 games without a star. Players the likes of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard are expected to make their final decision where they want to stay. But our expectations of Kawhi were too high.

Every time a "super team" is established in the National Basketball Association, the knee-jerk reaction is to scream how it's unfair and what's the reason for even watching the league.

Totalling up to 73 missed games, Kawhi proved to the city of San Antonio, a city who loved him and wanted to nurture his gift as a basketball player, and proved to the entire NBA that he was immature, a awful teammate, and as ESPN's Michelle Beadle put it, "a diva". Who knows which one that will be. But I very much doubt it.

The cause has yet to be confirmed, but officials speculate a lightning strike could have started the blaze. Drinkers nationwide are in mourning today, as 45,000 barrels of Jim Beam have been destroyed in a fire.

Yup, the Kawhi Leonard rumors completely are off the rails at this point.

That season, I lost all the respect I had for Kawhi Leonard.

Raptors' Director of Sports Science Alex Mckechnie has received credit for helping Leonard return to a superstar level after a leg injury forced him to miss most of the previous season. Since the moment he finally arrived in town in September, after a summer in which he had offered precisely no reaction to his trade from San Antonio, none of those who covered the Raptors were able to get a read on the guy.

"I'm so embarrassed of my city", remarked one woman walking by, a common refrain from some passersby.

According to a source, Leonard agreed to meet with the Knicks, but not until Wednesday after finishing with the Clippers and Lakers. It is not like the Lakers can't win with just Anthony and LeBron, there are good chances for that happen.

And, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Leonard's camp has warned those teams not to leak any information about their recruiting pitches or negotiations.
