Grizzlies Acquire Josh Jackson In Trade With Phoenix Suns

More specifically - the Sixers might be in the running to bring Kyle Korver back to the team that drafted him.

The major news in the trade comes from Korver - the 16-year veteran sharpshooter, who is expected to be bought out by the Suns, per Wojnarowski.

The 38-year-old guard has been sent from the Grizzlies to the Suns in exchange for Josh Jackson, De'Anthony Melton and two second-round picks, according to a report from ESPN, which cites unidentified league sources.

Korver's $7.5 million 2019-20 salary is only guaranteed for $3.4 million, so the cap savings will allow them to pull this off.

The Grizzlies get a free look at Jackson, but have long evaluated Melton as a guard with an National Basketball Association staying power.

The trade that will see Mike Conley end up with the Utah Jazz and Kyle Korver, Jae Crowder, Grayson Allen and draft picks with the Memphis Grizzlies can't be officially completed until July 6, but Korver will reportedly again be moved right after that. But, his career has been derailed by inconsistent play and off-the-court issues.

Korver is expected to consider the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks once he clears waivers.

The Heat were a poor-shooting team last season, hitting just 34.9 percent of their 3-point attempts, which was good for 21st in the National Basketball Association.

In five April games, Jackson averaged 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists for the Suns but his production has been inconsistent over the course of the past two seasons.
