Frank Lampard tasked with sorting 18-year-old’s Chelsea FC future

Frank Lampard tasked with sorting 18-year-old’s Chelsea FC future

Loftus-Cheek had become a regular face for former manager Maurizio Sarri and had performed really well, scoring 10 goals and assisting 5 in all competitions for the club, to only be surpassed by Olivier Giroud, Pedro and Eden Hazard.

The story says that Chelsea FC are prepared to offer Hudson-Odoi a new five-year contract because they want him to stay at the club and develop under Lampard.

Loftus-Cheek's new contract is said to run for at least five years and could be worth £90,000 a week more than what he had signed up for three years ago.

Still we have a chance, I think, but we have to win these two games and wait to see what will happen in the other games. Reifer's side were officially eliminated from the race to qualify for the semi-finals after losing to India on Thursday.

The Telegraph also adds that the announcement will likely be made this week, coinciding with the appointment of Frank Lampard as the new Chelsea manager. Lampard is believed to have received assurances from the owner, Roman Abramovich, in the period since that he will be given time to make a proper mark back at the club with Chelsea now operating under a transfer embargo which will potentially extend through to the summer of 2020. Chelsea are set to announce officially the return of their former talisman this week, this time as head coach of the Blues.

There will also be roles on Lampard's first-team staff for Joe Edwards, who will be promoted from the Academy, and Eddie Newton, who had been in charge of Chelsea's loan players.

He may not return from injury until the second half of the new season, but there is no doubt he's a vital player moving forward.
