Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton seriously injured in crash

A bad accident in Miami-Dade early Thursday morning caused two people to be hospitalized.

"We were made aware this morning of a serious auto accident involving Kendrick Norton", said a statement from the Dolphins.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time", the tweet read.

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton is in critical condition but expected to live after a serious vehicle accident, according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Kelly wrote that while Norton is expected to live, the accident could end Norton's football career. ESPN reports Norton suffered a significant left arm injury.

The company is also allowing its employees to make donations to the families and communities affected by the crashes . The airframer began updating the software after the crash of a Lion Air 737 MAX 8 off Indonesia in October 2018 .

Video of Norton arriving at the hospital shows him suffering what appears to be a very serious injury to his left arm. His current condition was not life-threatening, the Herald reported.

Norton was a seventh-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers previous year.

Over three seasons at UM, Norton played in 37 games, started 25 of the 26 games as a sophomore and junior and was voted third-team All-ACC by the conference coaches as a sophomore. He didn't play with the Panthers after spending past year on the practice squad.
