"We are all upset, deeply affected and very, very sad", the Swiss Football Association said in a statement.

Ismaili was one of her country's most experienced players.

Capped 33 times with three goals for the Swiss, she captained Young Boys' female team BSC YB Frauen.

Several figures within the global footballing community have paid tribute to 24-year-old Swiss women's worldwide Florijana Ismaili whose body has ben retrieved from Lake Como days after going missing.

Rescue director Giuseppe Camassa described Lake Como to Swiss newspaper Blick as "treacherous" and spoke of its "strong currents under the calm waters" as he led the search for Ismaili. "She was someone who faced every challenge and set the example", he added.

Nils Nielsen, coach of the Swiss women's side, led the tributes to Ismaili saying, "I am deeply saddened and shaken. But my thoughts are with them in these hard times".

Also, American companies such as Intel or Qualcomm were making a lot of money by selling their products to Huawei. The dispute escalated when talks collapsed in May after Washington accused Beijing of reneging on reform pledges.

"We are dismayed, shocked and very, very much in pain", the Swiss football federation said in a statement, offering "sincere condolences" to Ismaili's family and friends.

Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri posted a tribute to his compatriot Ismaili, who was also of Kosovo-Albanian descent, on social media.

"My family and I would like to express our condolences to the Ismaili family and the near ones".

Ismaili made her global debut with Switzerland in 2014 and has since earned 33 caps with the national team.

Upon hearing the news, Federation Internationale de Football Association president Gianni Infantino, whose organisation is headquartered in Switzerland, expressed his condolences.
