USA World Cup triumph motivates me, not golden boot, insists Morgan

Celebrating her 30th birthday, Morgan feigned a sip of tea after scoring the goal for the U.S.

The U.S faces England in the first 2019 World Cup semifinal match.

"I just said, "That was your shining moment, '" head coach Jill Ellis said on the Fox broadcast". That's not goals continuing to come from me, that's this team.

Third-ranked England went through to the semifinals in 2015 but fell to Japan before beating Germany in the third-place match for the Lionesses' best finish in the tournament. With the quarterfinal victory in France, the Americans tied Norway's record winning streak set over the 1995 and 1999 tournaments.

There was an unwelcome surprise for England too with goalkeeper Karen Bardsley missing out with a hamstring injury and Carly Telford drafted in.

Kamala Harris jumps to third place following first Democratic debates
Cory Booker posted a New York Times article that addressed the controversy, and said that "[Harris] doesn't have [sh**] to prove". Biden then claimed he opposed federally-mandated busing only.

But the quality of the Americans in the final third was displayed in flawless fashion when Press collected a ball from deep on the left flank and fed Horan, whose delightful lofted pass was met by Morgan with a pinpoint header that flashed past Telford. Both teams generated chances throughout the rest of the match.

Kelley O'Hara sent a cross into the box, where Press headed it past keeper Carly Telford to give the USA a 1-0 lead.

The United States kept up the pressure after going ahead, but it was England who scored next as White turned in a cross on the half volley off a cross from Beth Mead. Naeher has only allowed three goals during this Women's World Cup.

VAR did provide England with a lifeline though, a penalty awarded for a foul on White, but Houghton's soft spot kick was saved by Alyssa Naeher. It was Morgan's 107th global goal, moving her into a tie for fifth on the US career list with Michelle Akers.

The United States has scored inside the first 12 minutes in every game they have played at this tournament.
