Here Are The Front-Runners To Play Elvis For Baz Luhrmann

Harry Styles is among the actors being considered by Baz Luhrmann to play the titular hip-gyrating, contemporaneous-old-people-infuriating rock and roll legend in his upcoming Elvis Presley biopic, according to a report from Deadline. The Wrap writes that the project has been in the works since Luhrmann concluded his 2013 adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

Harry Styles, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Austin Butler and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are no strangers to inducing swoons in young women like the King did in his heyday, but can they nail the King's signature move?

The as yet untitled Elvis biopic has been penned by Luhrmann and fellow Australian Craig Pearce.

Which of these five men will play Elvis Presley? Styles, 25, is known for singing in the boy band One Direction before breaking into films with Christopher Nolan's acclaimed "Dunkirk".

Jony Ive found Tim Cook's disinterest in design "dispiriting"
It distorts relationships, decisions and events to the point that we just don't recognize the company it claims to describe. He says that a lot of reporting and the conclusions made are not in line with reality. "The story is absurd", Cook wrote.

Elgort, 25, on the other hand, has been in many previous films and is now shooting Steven Spielberg's 2020 adaption of West Side StoryTeller, 32, is in the midst of working with Tom Cruise on the sequel to his classic 1986 film Top Gun. Whatever the case, THR says WarnerBros.is looking to cast its Elvis in the "coming weeks".

Already, Tom Hanks is on board to portray Col. Tom Parker, Presley's manager.

The movie will reportedly explore the pair's relationship - Parker famously controlled much of Presley's private life as well as his professional career - along with the story of Presley's rise to worldwide stardom. If a vote of confidence from Spielberg isn't enough to make you think Elgort has the goods, then I don't know what to tell you. So he had made some really lousy Elvis movies.
