Overall, the move was a solid one for the Heat.

A few weeks back, we theorized that Hassan Whiteside may eventually get what he wanted, as he reportedly wanted to be traded away from the Miami Heat.

However, if a change of scenery proves to not be enough to coax all that natural talent out of Whiteside, the Blazers might be in deep trouble.

After once being considered the Heat's prize developmental find, the Whiteside experiment ended Monday when he was traded to the Portland Trailblazers.

Harkless averaged 7.7 points per game and Leonard 5.9 points for Portland last season.

Egypt and Jordan, the only two Arab states that have peace agreements with Israel, attended the conference. A brother of Abu Miala, who asked not to be identified by first name, said Abu Miala had been released.

Whiteside, whose contract is up following the 2019-20 season, appeared in 72 games (53 starts) with the Heat last season, averaging 12.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in just over 23 minutes per game.

Whiteside dealt with injuries during the season and didn't want to wear a knee brace that the Heat insisted upon, and Riley said that if Whiteside and Spoelstra need an intervention to solve their relationship issues - if any - he'll handle it. If the Heat can't trade Dragic, they can accomplish the trade by trading Kelly Olynyk, Derrick Jones Jr. and two among Duncan Robinson, Yante Maten and Kendrick Nunn Jr. "Blazers offseason: Whiteside, Kent Bazemore, retain Rodney Hood and draft Nassir Little".

After making an impressive run to the Western Conference finals this past season, the Portland Trail Blazers are trying to ensure that they don't take a step backward next season in a suddenly-open Western Conference.

Leonard, 27, has averaged 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in seven seasons, all with Portland, who selected him 11th overall out of IL in 2012. They are both very capable players, who could excel at filling certain roles or even emerge as potential spot starters in the Miami Heat system.

Via Twitter, Blazers guard CJ McCollum gave a farewell message of sorts to Leonard and Harkless, writing: "Gonna miss y'all man @moe_harkless @MeyersLeonard11". Hope y'all do y'all thang in mia.
