Facebook site evacuated after mail tests positive for sarin

Facebook site evacuated after mail tests positive for sarin

Facebook checks all of its mail and packages for risky substances, it's understood the suspicious package was detected about 11am local time.

"Authorities have not yet identified the substance found", Mr Harrison wrote.

The Menlo Park Fire Marshal reported that two Facebook employees may have come in contact with the nerve agent.

A Facebook mail processing warehouse has been evacuated as Silicon Valley officials try to determine what caused a bag of mail to test positive for the nerve agent sarin.

They said no one was showing any signs of symptoms from the toxic chemical, and it is yet unclear if there is an actual threat or a false positive.

Four buildings in Menlo Park, where the company is headquartered in Northern California, were emptied after a package was "deemed suspicious", Facebook spokesperson Anthony Harrison told PEOPLE in a statement.

Manchester United agree personal terms with forward
Manchester United have finally agreed to terms in principle with Sevilla striker, Wissam Ben Yedder , according to La Colina de Nervion .

"The safety of our employees is our top priority and we will share additional information when it is available", he said.

Incoming mail undergoing routine processing by machine tested positive for sarin, but it could have been a false positive, Johnston said.

Media reports have indicated that possible exposures have occurred, but Schapelhouman stressed that no injuries had been reported as of noontime.

Even a fraction of an ounce of sarin on the skin can mess with the human nervous system enough to be fatal, according to the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It has the ability to change from liquid to gas and when it does it can spread into the environment.

People who are mildly exposed to the agent usually recover quickly, according to the AP's report.
