Africa Cup of Nations: Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

The victory took Madagascar to the top with seven points. Some Nigerian fans, who could not hide their feelings yesterday described the defeat as a big disgrace to Nigerian football.Solomon Uchenna, who flew in from Cairo to watch the match said the Eagles played as if there was nothing at stake.

Despite domination possession for most of the second stanza, the Super Eagles struggled to carve out a serious opening in the final third.

The Super Eagles fell behind in the 13th minute, with Lalaina Nomenjanahary taking advantage of a woeful defensive error from Brighton defender Leon Balogun to slot home after rounding goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

The Super Eagles did not have fighting spirit against Madagascar because they had already qualified for the knockout rounds of the AFCON, according to a disappointed coach Gernot Rohr. We started with giving them (Madagascar) a gift and after, we could not find a solution.

Nigeria surprisingly missed out on the last two renewals of this tournament, having been crowned champions for the third time in 2013.

"Madagascar was the better team today (Sunday)".

Netflix Witcher TV Series Photos Show Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri
Fans of the games will recognize Cavill's look as Geralt, which looks strongly influenced by his appearance in the games. Yennefer, being played in the series by Anya Chalotra, and Ciri played by Freya Allan , both look great as well.

Both countries have already qualified to the next round but they have their glory and flawless record to protect when they meet Madagascar and Uganda in their respective group matches.

Madagascar upset Nigeria and even upstaged Mohamed Salah at the African Cup of Nations on Sunday. They also defeated Burundi and drew with Guinea to advance into the last-16 as Group B winners.

Nigeria were short on luck, too, with Kalu's appeal for a penalty turned down despite it looking like he was clipped as he tried to round Madagascar goalkeeper Adrien Melvin.

Nigeria brought on Wilfred Ndidi to try to inspire a second-half comeback but he was culpable for the second goal.

"The main problem is that Marco [Ilaimaharitra] received a second yellow card and won't be able to play in the next match".
