Megan Rapinoe, USWNT Receive DC Invite From Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

There has been a major firestorm around Megan Rapinoe this week but if there's one thing we've learned about the USA star, it's that she thrives under the spotlight. My mom will be very upset about that.

The president rarely misses an opportunity to out-petty someone, like when he publicly cancelled the Golden State Warriors' championship White House visit after Steph Curry said he wouldn't go.

The invitation and acceptance comes just the week after Rapinoe said she wouldn't accept a team invitation to the White House.

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez invited Rapinoe and the USWNT to tour the House of Representatives shortly after their 2-1 win against France in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Following a bold display of defiance toward President Donald Trump, U.S. women's soccer star Megan Rapinoe has now accepted an invitation from Rep.

"Consider it done", Rapinoe, the USA star forward, quickly replied. Still, she stood firm on her position.

Although the Russo Brothers lifted the embargo on Endgame spoilers last month, Twitterati did not react positively to Holland's yet-another gaffe.

A longtime activist, she has been outspoken in demanding equal pay for women's soccer players.

"Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team", Trump tweeted.

"I'm a gargantuan fan of the American Group, and Women folk's Soccer, but Megan ought to WIN first earlier than she TALKS", Trump tweeted on Wednesday. "Finish the job!" Trump posted on Twitter in response to Rapinoe's comment.

He added that "win or lose" he would now be inviting the team anyway. Rapinoe told Sports Illustrated back in May that her strong stance was because Trump was "against so numerous things I am [for]".

Rapinoe has form, having supported former NFL star Colin Kaepernick's decision to kneel, rather than stand, during the playing of the national anthem at games to protest racism and police brutality.
