Sergio AGUERO talks Argentina vs. Brazil at the Copa America

Argentina have released a strong starting XI that will tackle Venezuela in tonight's 2019 Copa America quarter-final fixture.

They scraped into the last eight with a nervy 2-0 win over Qatar in their final group-stage game after losing to Colombia and drawing with Paraguay.

In the end, Argentina were able to run out comfortable winners to set up a last four tie against rivals Brazil.

The win sees them set up what will nearly certainly be an enthralling semi-final against Brazil, who secured their place in the last four with a penalty shootout victory over Paraguay on Friday.

The tournament hosts edged Paraguay in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw on Thursday.

The Barcelona star, whose team face Brazil on Wednesday (AEST), accepted he was yet to hit top form at the tournament.

"For me, he is the best in history, winning or not winning titles with Argentina, that will not take him out of first place on the podium." he said at a press conference.

"Defensively we didn't have any problems and the team was very solid at all times".

"We did not give up any spaces [defensively] when they started looking [for a goal]", he noted. It doesn't help us play, have a quick ball, pass and go.

The 32-year-old emphasised the poor state of the pitches throughout the tournament as a potential reason behind his underwhelming performances and Argentina's inability to play quick football along the ground. "The ball bounces poorly, we can't carry it".

"What matters today is that we won and advanced", the striker said.

"I can assure you he is a big part of the team, we have no doubts about that".

"We didn't start well in the first half and maybe that cost us the qualification because we lacked a bit of the character to get through those first few minutes", said Rincon.

Sergio AGUERO has been a regular starter for coach Lionel SCALONI at the Copa America and brings a lot of experience to the team.
