OneDrive: Personal Vault and storage changes

"Personal Vault adds to the robust privacy and security that OneDrive now offers, including file encryption at rest and in transit, suspicious activity monitoring, ransomware detection and recovery, mass file deletion notification and recovery, virus scanning on download for known threats, and version history for all file types", stated Microsoft's announcement. You can access it anywhere that you can access your OneDrive storage as well, which includes mobile. Windows 10 will also sync your OneDrive and the Personal Vault area is protected in a BitLocker-encrypted area.

MICROSOFT HAS REVEALED an overhaul to its cloud storage locker service OneDrive. They've also adjusted OneDrive pricing and tweaked storage offers for Office 365 users.

The Verge noted that Microsoft is one of the first companies to add this type of authentication security feature.

The second new feature that will roll out soon is called OneDrive Personal Vault. Each 200GB will cost you $9.99 (around £8) per month, which is still quite a bit more than Google Drive but has better integration with Windows, which might swing it for a few people.

The service, which comes bundled with Windows 10 and Office 365, has added extra security options which will allow business and personal files to co-exist, with an extra "super-top-secret" layer for the stuff you definitely don't want anyone to see.

West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell ruled out of World Cup with injury
West Indies star all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 owing to a hamstring injury. The 26-year-old Ambris will join the team ahead of West Indies' league fixture against India at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Patton says the idea behind Personal Vault is to give users a section of their online storage where they know their most sensitive documents are as safe as possible. Microsoft has increased its 50GB plan to 100GB of storage for the same $2 per month price. For further protection on mobile devices, we recommend that you enable encryption on your iOS or Android device. It appears that administrators of these systems need to encrypt the hard drives manually, using the encryption software VeraCrypt.

It will be available to all markets by the end of the year. The new feature is not related to that. Not just security, the company has added a bunch of options to make the Personal Vault even more usable.

Update: For Office 365 Home users, Microsoft clarified in a statement to Neowin that "Only the primary account holder can purchase additional storage, and the additional storage will only be available to the primary account holder to use".
