Lampard to be appointed Chelsea manager

In the next 48 hours, Frank Lampard will be appointed Chelsea's chief coach, talkSPORT reported.

The former Napoli boss won the Europa League and guided Chelsea FC to a third-placed finish in his debut campaign in west London.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Aston Villa in the Championship, where he helped the team navigate the play-offs and return to the Premier League.

Abraham featured against Lampard's Derby in the playoffs finals last month when Villa beat them 2-1 at Wembley.

Chelsea's new manager could end up having to rely on the cub's vast selection of young talent and striker Tammy Abraham is optimistic about his chances to establish himself next season. I got 1000s of messages from Chelsea fans on Instagram (when out on loan) saying play him, play him.

Chelsea are aiming to make progress on appointing a new head coach this week, but Derby have been left in limbo while they wait.
