Space Jam 2 to feature Lillard, Davis, Thompson

The cast of "Space Jam 2" is taking shape with key roles slated for Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson, as well as Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike.

Details on her role, or if any of it was filmed in the Phoenix-area, have not been released.

The follow up picture Space Jam 2, is now under works and is scheduled for a release in the summer of 2021. Davis, known as "The Brow" for his prominent unibrow, was recently traded from the New Orleans Pelicans to James' team, the Los Angeles Lakers, which may have opened the door for his casting.

The former leader was instead laid to rest in eastern Cairo early on Tuesday, reportedly under tight security. He'd been on trial for spying charges. "He also appears to have been held in prolonged solitary confinement".

The first Space Jam was released in 1996 starring Michael Jordan and also featured fellow National Basketball Association stars Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, Shawn Bradley, Danny Ainge, and more athletes, in addition to actor Bill Murray.

In September, James announced that "Black Panther" director Ryan Coogler would produce and "Random Acts of Flyness" creator Terence Nance would direct.

The movie was set to film this summer and has a July 2021 release date. The storyline featured the Looney Tunes enlisting Michael Jordan to help them win a basketball game against aliens who wanted to imprison the Looney Tunes for an amusement park on their planet. But that hasn't stopped fans from joking that James is using his film to recruit talent to Los Angeles.
