Google Calendar is down (so now you have the ideal excuse)

Google Calendar is down (so now you have the ideal excuse)

Alphabet Inc's Google Calendar app users were unable to access their schedules on Tuesday as the app faced technical issues globally. If you try to access it via your desktop browser, the page will return an Error 404 warning.

We're investigating reports of an issue with Google Calendar.

According to a status message on G Suite, "We expect to resolve the problem affecting a majority of users of Google Calendar at 6/18/19, 11:40 AM".

Few people have a calendar backup, however, and so we're imagining there may be a fair number of people using the "Oh, sorry I missed it, Google Calendar didn't remind me" excuse over the rest of the day.

Another said: 'Google Calendar is down.

Another remarked: "Google Calendar is down and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do 30 minutes from now".

India's Population to Overtake China's by 2027
The global fertility rate, which fell from 3.2 births per woman in 1990 to 2.5 in 2019, will decline further to 2.2 in 2050. The impact of low fertility on population size is reinforced in some locations by high rates of emigration.

We've reached out to Google for more details and will update when we know more.

As of 10:30 a.m. (ET), almost 4,400 reports had been submitted from users affected by the outage.

Earlier in the month, Google suffered a number of outages within its Cloud Platform, which resulted in millions of users in the USA unable to access several Google services as well as third-party applications.

"As part of Google's "Don't Be Evil" strategy they've deleted Google Calendar, you no longer have to attend meetings", wrote another Twitter user. Patiently waiting until it's back up is the only thing you can do.

Surprisingly, the mobile app seems to be working fine.

This story is developing.
