Paul Pogba could still return to Juventus despite financial issues

But the Manchester United star may have to force his way out of Old Trafford to make it happen as his club insist he is going nowhere.

It was Pogba's change in attitude that really irked his critics, with Roy Keane unhappy about his "poor work rate" and "leadership".

It's suggested that United will now be looking for a £130m cheque this summer before they agree to offload Pogba, but the club's stance over the future of their record signing really hasn't been made crystal clear.

Juve hope to raise around €110 million from these sales, which would allow them to bankroll the signing of Pogba, or potentially Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt.

Real Madrid are also interested in the 26-year-old, but it appears unlikely they will pay more than £100 million (R1.8 billion) to lure him to Spain considering the money they have already spent on new signings in this window.

According to the Daily Mail, Juventus will sell Joao Cancelo, Douglas Costa, Juan Cuadrado, Mario Mandzukic and Mattia Perin for around £100m in order to fund a move for Paul.

Offloading five first-team players shows just how far the Serie A champions are willing to go this summer for a player they clearly still view as one of the world's best.

The defender signed a five-year contract last September and new manager Brendan Rodgers made it clear at the end of the season he feels Maguire can develop even more if he remains at the King Power.
