James to join Manchester United in reported £18million move

Manchester United have announced they have agreed a deal, in principle, to sign Daniel James from Swansea.

United are ready to start their summer spending with the capture of James, with the Wales global arriving at the club's training ground for a medical on Thursday.

Swansea rather handily state that the deal is likely to go through when FIFA's worldwide transfer window opens on June 11.

James has been linked to United since early May, with it long reported a deal had been agreed.

The 21-year-old will move to Old Trafford for a fee of around £15 million, potentially rising to around £22m, to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing of the summer.

"It isn't done yet but if it happens, as I've said in the past, United are getting an exciting player", Giggs said, quoted by Wales Online.

However, Manchester United waited for the player to cope from the tragedy.

James is an academy graduate at Swansea who scored five goals in 38 appearances for the club last season and has played twice for Wales.

The arrival of James marks a significant change in the Old Trafford outfit's transfer policy, with Solskjaer now pursuing hungry and hard-working youngsters over established big-name superstars.

The Welsh forward, who impressed everyone with his blistering pace was speculated heavily to join Manchester united, but a sudden demise of his father stalled the negotiations.
