Injured Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of ICC World Cup for three weeks

Injured Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of ICC World Cup for three weeks

Dhawan was hit on the hand by a rising delivery from Nathan Coulter-Nile on Sunday and suffered a suspected hairline fracture on his thumb.

Dhawan, however, played no further part in the match after his dismissal, with substitute Ravindra Jadeja taking the field in his place as India comfortably defended their total of 352 for five to complete a 36-run victory. After he went for a scan on Monday, the result showed that he had suffered a suspected fracture.

Shikar Dhawan will be missing India's upcoming matches against New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, West Indies, and England - all these matches are scheduled to be played in June.

In such a case, BCCI will not name a replacement.

Designated standbys Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant are in contention to replace Dhawan. Wishing him a speedy, solid recovery and praying he's back with a bang super soon!

Girish Karnad passes away at 81
Three years later, in 1964, Karnad wrote Tughlaq , another play based on the story of the 14th-century king Muhammad bin Tughluq. As per his last wish, the family has made a decision to not follow any religious and state honour during his last rites.

This is a major blow for India, especially if we take into consideration the left-hander's record while playing in the ICC Tournaments.

Now its interesting to see whether KL Rahul will open again or will he be made to stay at No.4 only? Extreme loss for India.

After an electrifying performance against Australia at The Oval, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket World cup owing to a thumb injury which he sustained during his knock against the Aussies.
