Warriors say Kevin Durant will practice before Game 5

The last meaningful update concerning Durant's right calf strain was issued after Game 3 when coach Steve Kerr informed the media that KD was "nudging closer to a return" with no particular date in mind.

The Golden State Warriors could be on the verge of receiving some much-needed backup as they face elimination Monday night trailing 3-1 in the NBA Finals.

VanVleet was felled by an accidental elbow from Golden State's Shaun Livingston in the fourth quarter of the Raptors' 105-92 victory Friday, leaving him bloodied and flat on his back.

"I'm not going to smile for you, though", he said, "but I'm back to normal, so that was a good moment, and now I'm back".

"If you haven't got your eye cut up or got hit in the mouth a couple times playing basketball then you might be playing it the wrong way".

Durant will ramp up his activity and give his calf another go as he tries to help salvage the Warriors' remaining hopes for a three-peat.

Novak Djokovic was understandably frustrated after his 26 match win streak at the Grand Slam level ended on Saturday. Djokovic could have been lining up on the opposite half this afternoon had it not been for the brilliance of Thiem.

"I'm a gambler. I gambled and sometimes it comes back to bite you in the butt", VanVleet said at a podium set up along one of the baselines at Scotiabank Arena following Sunday's practice.

Durant was the leading scorer in the playoffs before suffering a leg injury in the second round.

"It's just having another powerful weapon out there that can do some very dynamic things on the floor", Curry said.

Through four games in the championship series, he is averaging 13.3 points and 6.8 assists. "So if anything, it will be on me to make sure that I report everything and tell them how I'm feeling".

Before Game 4, he posted a cryptic message to his Instagram account.

While Toronto has been the healthier, steadier and more impressive team throughout this series, Thompson allowed himself to dream about the possibility of a Durant-led comeback.
