Red Sox Legend David Ortiz Shot In Dominican Republic

There appears to be more positive news at present, regarding Ortiz's status.

The Dial Bar and Lounge is located in eastern Santo Domingo on Venezuela Avenue, a bustling nightlife district packed with dance clubs and pricey bars that Ortiz is known to frequent.

The suspect was beaten by several bystanders and handed over to police, after which he was taken to hospital for treatment. Ortiz's father, Leo, told Soldevilla that he is now resting, no major organs were affected and a total recovery is expected.

According to the AP, Bautista said two more people were injured in the shooting, including a Dominican TV host who was with Ortiz at the time.

"Please Big Papi. You can pull through". "I'm a good man", as reported by Dionisio Soldevila of Periodico Hoy.

Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt marries girlfriend Katherine Schwarzenegger
Both outlets report Pratt's son Jack , 6, and Schwarzenegger's parents Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger were in attendance. This explains why we don't have proper images of Katherine's stunning dress, but some pictures have popped up on social media.

This report from @dSoldevila is obviously different from what was initially reported out of the DR that David Ortiz was shot in the leg.

Leo Ortiz told on Sunday night that Ortiz was shot while at an entertainment center in Santo Domingo.

Ortiz's brother told a reporter the former Red Sox slugger is fine after being shot Sunday night. With 485 home runs, 1,569 runs batted in and 2,192 hits, Ortiz is considered one of the best hitters in baseball history.

People rushed to Twitter to lend their support to the former Minnesota Twins player. In 2004, Ortiz helped break an 86-year championship drought in Boston and went on to help the team win championships again in 2007 and 2013.

Ortiz was born in Santo Domingo and played 20 seasons in the major leagues.
