Passenger aboard Pakistani flight accidentally opens emergency door; several people offloaded

The passenger was onboard a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight when the incident occurred.

A female passenger on board a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane mistakenly opened the emergency door of the plane taking it for bathroom door.

When the woman was asked about the incident, she said that she had opened the emergency door as she thought it was the toilet.

Authorities claimed that the airbag chute on flight PK-702 to Islamabad opened because of a lack of airline staff the day earlier, reported The Express Tribune.

"We regret the delay of PK771, which is an unfortunate effect of the delay of PK702, caused due to a passenger opening the emergency door", PIA wrote.

In an apparent attempt to beat the queue to disembark, the passenger, identified by his surname, Song, opened an emergency door near his seat after his flight landed.

A Manchester Airport spokesman confirmed the flight was delayed at Terminal 2, while officials said that the aircraft was not on the runway at the time. I am one of the 38 passengers who voluntarily off loaded from PK702 so it can fly to islamabad only on the condition that all 38 of us will get our luggage ...

The airline had to provide the passengers with transporation and hotel accommodation as well as booking them onto other flights.

The flight, bound for Islamabad, was set to take off.
