Dallas Keuchel, New York Yankees appear to be match

NY hasn't had ace right-hander Luis Severino all season, and James Paxton and CC Sabathia each spent time on the disabled list. He was looking for a closer-record contract of $100 million in a five- to six-year contract last offseason, but now wants a three-year contract between $15-$17 million per year. Now that Sunday's deadline has passed, a team no longer will need to fork over a draft pick in order to sign the former Houston Astros left-hander.

With the 2019 MLB Draft having arrived, star MLB free agents Dallas Keuchel and Craig Kimbrel are now likely to soon sign with teams, as we're past the date where franchises would have to forfeit a pick by signing them.

Keuchel, the 2015 American League Cy Young Award victor, compiled a 76-63 record in seven seasons with the Astros. Here are the latest Yankees Rumors and News on Keuchel and more injury updates.

In 2019 alone, the switch-hitting Rutschman has boasted a.411/.575/.751 slash line while blasting 17 home runs with 58 RBIs. Dozier hasn't played since leaving Thursday's game with what was described by the team as "right-sided thorax tightness".

Keuchel, 30, is a former Cy Young Award victor who saw his ERA jump to 3.74 and his WHIP climb to 1.31 last season, which was his highest mark since 2013. He's 3-5 with a 4.05 ERA in 13 starts. Masahiro Tanaka has been solid this year, but J.A. Happ has not been. He made the All-Star team with a 2.90 ERA in 2017. Bringing in a guy like Keuchel who has experience pitching in the American League would be key for the Yankees.

The 29-year-old Bumgarner will be a free agent after the season.

Another factor, perhaps a tipping point for some teams, was that signing either pitcher was going to cost a high draft pick and global bonus money. Unlikely names like Clint Frazier and Gio Urshela have stepped up offensively, while Domingo German has pitched well in place of Luis Severino in the rotation. In that aspect, you're going to have a lot of teams interested in Bumgarner.
