Real Madrid agrees to fee for Chelsea’s Hazard

Real Madrid agrees to fee for Chelsea’s Hazard

Giroud, 32, signed a one-year contract extension in May and, with Chelsea now unable to sign new players due to a transfer ban, he remains optimistic about his chances of playing regularly in 2019-20.

Real Madrid's long-publicised swoop for Eden Hazard is set to come to a close after the two clubs have finally agreed a transfer fee that suits both parties. Although, it seems that the West-London based club have settled with an agreement.

That particular shirt doesn't have any link to any famous names in Real Madrid's history, nor does it have any relation to Hazard himself.

The return of Zinedine Zidane to the Real hotseat put the idea back on the table and after Chelsea beat Arsenal in the Europa League final last week the former Lille midfielder all but confirmed it.

They were also knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16 to subsequent semi-finalists Ajax.

The club's marketing department want to maximise shirt sales when Hazard signs, but the only number now available in the first team squad is No.16.

'I've taken my decision already, I've said that two weeks ago, ' Hazard told BT Sport.

The Spanish side are set for an active summer in the transfer market, having already secured a £62m deal for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic.

The 21-year-old scored 27 goals for the Bundesliga side during last season, including against Hazard and his Chelsea side in the Europa League semi-finals.

With only a year left on his contract, Madrid have been keen not to go above 100 million euros, while the Stamford Bridge club are looking for something in the region of €120 million.

Will Hazard be a success for Real?
