Destiny 2 is going Free-To-Play

Destiny 2 is going Free-To-Play

Ahead of today's Bungie live stream event, it appears that an inadvertent "oops" moment at Engadget (& its WoW Insider URL) has revealed that a free-to-play announcement may be incoming for Destiny 2.

Going into more details, Destiny 2: New Light will feature all year one content, including "foundational modes, activities and rewards". This means that you pay for expansions, but you can play the main game for free.

On a now-removed page, Engadget seems to have broken an embargo and revealed that Bungie will be taking Destiny 2 in a free-to-play direction. Either way, we should get more answers later this evening.

Rain in the Forecast Thanks to a Tropical Disturbance
This image of the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, taken on Saturday, shows a swirl of clouds in the area of concern. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV)- A disturbance in the Bay of Campeche is being monitored for tropical development.

The story of Shadowkeep unites players with Eris Morn, according to the description of the storyline, which stated: "New nightmares have emerged from the shadows of our Moon".

Destiny 2 will move away from season passes and will now offer "à la carte" DLC which does not require previous DLC packs, Shadowkeep being the first. "PC gamers will be pleased to note that Destiny 2 will soon be available on Steam, and can migrate their progress and purchases over for free", a preview of the page on Google (as seen below) suggests. We'll know for sure whether all of this is true later today when Bungie livestreams its plans. However, they also report they will be ending any platform exclusive deals, the last of which saw PlayStation owners get extra strikes and weapons.
