Apple isn't acting subtle about the (still rumored) looming death of iTunes

According to Bloomberg, Apple users will be able to manage their Apple gadgets through the music app. As part of the shift, more underlying technologies will also merge.

Although still popular, the iPhone is no longer reliably driving Apple's profits the way it has for the past decade.

The replacement? Three new apps for the Mac and for Music, TV and podcasts.

This follows last year's rollout of iPad versions of Apple's News, Voice Memos, Home, and Stocks apps on the Mac.

Among them, we'll most likely see a unified app ecosystem, which will allow all the single versions of all apps to run on any Apple device.

Apple is trying to adapt by squeezing money from digital services tailored for the more than 900 million iPhones now in use.

Apple has announced a slew of new software announcements that make some of its products like the Apple Watch and the iPad more independent and offer its users more security and privacy features. Beginning with iOS 13 the maps will include granular street and place data that Apple says it collected with street and aerial footage - tactics its largest mobile app rival Google has been using for years. The App Store will be available on the watch, making it possible for people to find and download apps right on their watch - expanding the availability of purchases that generate commissions for Apple.

iPadOS also makes the Apple Pencil more versatile, thanks to a redesigned tool palette to provide quick access to a wide range of tools such as ruler, eraser, etc.

The company is launching a trio of new apps for the Mac - Music, TV, and Podcasts - to replace iTunes.

At the weekend Apple announced the end of iTunes which has been the way Apple users listen to music, watch movies and TV shows, hear podcasts, and manage their devices for nearly two decades. After 18 years Apple will be doing away with iTunes.

It's official: the iPad is getting its own operating system.
