Trump says British royal Meghan was 'nasty' to him in new interview

The President sat down with Piers Morgan for an interview that aired on Wednesday's episode of Good Morning Britain, where he discussed his three-day visit to London.

In an interview with the Sun tabloid, Trump had referred to comments the American-born duchess had made about him before she became part of the British royal family as "nasty".

This could be interpreted as a sign of disapproval of the United States president, who called Meghan Markle "nasty" in a new interview.

Of Meghan said, he said, "She's doing a good job, I hope she enjoys her life ..." Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Duchess Camila, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and even Markle's husband Prince Harry are all scheduled to shake hands with the sitting U.S. President. Markle, who recently gave birth to her and Harry's first child, did not attend.

'It is nice, and I am sure she will do excellently. Markle hasn't made a statement about why she won't be there, but she has made her dislike for the Donald very clear in the past.

He cited a 2016 Comedy Central interview in which Markle, who was an actress at the time, said she would move to Canada if Trump was elected president. "He couldn't have been nicer.I think he's great". The protest included the famous "Trump Baby" balloon and a huge model of the president sitting on the toilet, tweeting on his phone.

The Donald said he didn't mean to call the Duchess of Sussex "nasty", but rather was referring to comments she made about him ahead of the 2016 USA election. "So, I have to be honest, I don't know her", Trump said.

Despite the rift, Trump says he got along famously with Prince Harry during the banquet at the palace earlier this week. I did. I congratulated him and I think he's a terrific guy.

In an attempt to dampen the fallout from the comments ahead of the final day of his British state visit, the USA president insisted "she was nasty about me" and not in general, but that "it's okay for her to be nasty". "I think she's very nice".

"I didn't know that", he said in response.

Yesterday, Harry joined Ivanka Trump and led her around Buckingham Palace's Picture Gallery for a display of US-themed artefacts in the afternoon.

They call it the "US State Visit" but at no point using words do they bother typing out the name "Trump".
