Anthony Joshua Andy Ruiz rematch confirmed by Eddie Hearn

Joshua also refused to make any excuses for his defeat and has vowed to win back the IBO, IBF, WBO and WBA (super) heavyweight titles he lost to the American in NY.

Only a few days after Joshua was upset by Ruiz via seventh-round TKO, Joshua's side has triggered the rematch clause included in the fight's contract.

Ruiz took the fight on short notice after Joshua's original opponent, Jarrell Miller, failed several drug tests in April.

"I'm the one who went in there to perform and my performance didn't go to plan".

"Congratulations to Andy Ruiz, he has six months or so to be champion because the belts go in the air and he is going to have to defend those titles against myself", Joshua said.

Following the shocking outcome to last weekend's fight at Madison Square Garden, the legendary George Foreman has offered to manage Anthony Joshua to regain his footing in the heavyweight division.

Joshua supposedly hit the canvas hard and was mentally affected, such that his father Robert even wanted his son to be removed from the headlining fight, though to no avail.

Reports have surfaced since Joshua's loss that the British champion was dropped during a sparring session and was concussed before his fight at Madison Square Garden.

"There was no contaminated food".

Hearn added that Joshua is focused on getting his heavyweight world titles back and wants revenge later in the year. He also said he would continue to work with McCracken.

"They've done a great job for me not only inside the boxing ring but mainly as a human". These guys have been with me for years. The former champion appeared to be sluggish throughout and at the end of the sixth round asked his corner "why am I feeling like this?"

"A second loss to Ruiz would be devastating for Anthony Joshua".
