Trump to Visit Ireland on Trip to Europe

USA president Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will visit Ireland immediately after their June trip to the United Kingdom, a White House spokesman has confirmed.

Trump has apparently caved in his initial demand that the meeting take place at his Ireland golf resort.

It is understood that Mr Trump will arrive into Shannon on June 5th and depart for the USA again on June 7th.

At the weekend, the Irish Embassy in Washington denied United States media reports that a standoff had arisen over the location of a possible meeting between President Trump and the Taoiseach.

The Wednesday, June 5 Trump/Varadkar sit down at Shannon will follow after President and Mrs. Trump complete a state visit to Britain.

IL company recalls more than 30 tons of beef for E. coli
Aurora Packing Company has recalled its beef heel and chuck tender meat products for a possible E.coli contamination. The CDC last month said an E. coli outbreak linked to contaminated beef had sickened 177 people in 10 states.

"Detailed arrangements around the visit will be made public in due course", she said.

The Trumps will then return to Ireland and head back to the US from Shannon, which is about forty miles from Doonbeg.

Trump will then attend a military ceremony in Portsmouth, southern England, from where ships left for D-Day landings in June 1944 in the largest seaborne invasion in history.

It has been confirmed to the Irish Examiner that the controversial President is to fly into Shannon Airport, which is now a likely venue for a meeting with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.

Varadkar has met with Trump twice, having visited Washington DC in both 2018 and 2019.
