Judge rejects Trump’s request to halt congressional subpoenas for his banking records

Likening it to Teddy Roosevelt's big lift in creating the national park system, Pelosi said she was ready to give Trump a once-a-century win.

Representative Maxine Waters, who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, told reporters after the lawsuit was filed that Trump had "cast a gauntlet".

Trump ended the White House meeting when Pelosi accused him of participating in a cover-up. In a hastily arranged appearance Wednesday in the White House Rose Garden, Trump said it's impossible to negotiate on infrastructure or other issues while the inquiries continue.

Ramos said he would not suspend his decision pending appeal.

Ramos said that the committees had the power to issue the subpoenas under Congress' "broad" power to conduct investigations to further legislation. Deutsche has likely already paid for whatever crimes might be revealed in these documents (it's paid for so much), but Trump and his family might be unhappy to have Congress learn that they have never properly valued an asset ever.

A representative from Deutsche bank told ABC News on Wednesday: "We remain committed to providing appropriate information to all authorized investigations and will abide by a court order regarding such investigations".

The New York Times has reported that Trump owed Deutsche Bank some $300 million when he was inaugurated in 2017. Trump wrote on Twitter Wednesday night.

Michael Stern, who served as senior House counsel from 1996 to 2004, said in an interview on Tuesday that Trump and the other plaintiffs faced an uphill battle.

Trump called Mehta's decision "crazy" and vowed to appeal.
