"And (spoiler alert!) New Coke will be available this summer via a (very) limited promotional run to bring to life one of 1985's biggest cultural moments - both on and off screen".

"One thing that makes Stranger Things so special is its commitment to authentically portraying the decade in which the show takes place", said Stuart Kronauge, Coca-Cola's North American president of sparkling business, in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

Netflix executives studied vintage New Coke packaging, advertisements and marketing in order to ensure the look was authentic, while Coca Cola executives looked to the original recipe, which had been locked away in a safe since its failure. Furthermore, in select cities, New Coke will be purchasable via an "upside-down" Stranger Things-inspired vending machine. No doubt things are about to go downhill soon and we can expect more monsters from the Upside Down to make their appearance and once again leave our charters having to fight for their lives, while hopefully helping to answer numerous questions that the series has yet to answer about what exactly is going on.
