Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 Arrives With A Price Of $999

It should be interesting to see if Google Glass can find its footing in the enterprise space, especially as the consumer-focused version failed to win over the majority of users a few years ago. The company instead transitioned it away from the consumer market with Glass Enterprise Edition. Google is also promising longer battery life from the 820 mAh battery and USB-C fast charging. Glass EE 2 brings a new CPU and a host of other enhancements along with it. Whereas the first iteration of Glass Enterprise Edition was experimental, the gizmo has now become an official product and moved from X, Alphabet's moonshot factory to Google. It's still a relatively simple heads-up display, not a Microsoft HoloLens-style mixed reality headset. "This enables significant power savings, enhanced performance, and support for computer vision and advanced machine learning capabilities", the company said in a Monday blog post.

Design-wise, it more or less sports the same look as the older model, but it's equipped with new safety frames from Smith Optics.

The smart glasses have also been made easier and faster to deploy, according to Kothari, as they are built upon Android and can play nice with Android-friendly APIs as well as Android Enterprise Mobile Device Management. "Enterprise businesses interested in using Glass Enterprise Edition 2 can contact our sales team or our network of Glass Enterprise solution partners starting today". But we haven't gotten a full picture of Google's plans for it until now.

Google Glass Enterprise Edition, as it's called, has since proved itself to be a useful tool in a range of industries such as manufacturing and field services.

The Russian bombers did not leave global aerospace and at no time entered US territory, the press release reveals. Air Force regularly flies bombers and reconnaissance aircraft near Russian Federation throughout the year.

The new glasses start from $999, down from the original $1,599 asking price on the previous Enterprise Glass.

During the launch of the P30 Pro, Huawei declared it was planning to enter the smart glasses market in June or July of this year, in collaboration with Gentle Monster.

Google isn't the only tech company that's developed AR glasses for the enterprise. This makes sense for two reasons; firstly, there are more immediate usecases for the enterprise world, and secondly, businesses have more money to spend on these types of products than the consumer.
