Horn added: "Though Endgame is far from an end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these first 22 films constitute a sprawling achievement, and this weekend's monumental success is a testament to the world they've envisioned, the talent involved, and their collective passion, matched by the irrepressible enthusiasm of fans around the world".

According to box office estimates and Disney, Endgame will take in $29.4 million domestically - as in the USA and Canada - at the end of its fourth weekend for a total of $770.8 million in domestic ticket sales.

In third, down one spot from last weekend, was Warner Bros.' family-friendly "Pokemon: Detective Pikachu", at $24.8 million.

The Cowboys have had discussions with Elliott's agent regarding an extension but are not fully involved in negotiations. Elliott returned to North Texas in time to host his Football Pro Camp at the Ford Center in Frisco on Sunday.

After three straight weeks at No. 1, Avengers: Endgame has finally been dethroned at the box office.

John Wick 3 isn't going to come close to those lofty heights, but a hit is a hit, and with the latest chapter ending on another open-ended note, don't be surprised to see Keanu rocking another bloody suit in another couple of years' time. "It's tough when one movie over performs by this kind of magnitude". A sequel to 2017's A Dog's goal, the film falls far short of its predecessor, which opened to $18.2 million. But unlike John Wick, the audience for this sequel was less than half of that for the first, which opened to $18.2 million. But audiences who did turn out gave it an A CinemaScore, which could point toward long-term playability.

Most disappointing, however, is the young adult adaptation "The Sun Is Also a Star" which grossed only $2.6 million from over 2,000 screens and landed in eighth place. Starring Grown-ish actress Yara Shahidi and Riverdale heartthrob Charles Melton, the teen romance follows two high-school students who fall in love in the course of a single day in New York City. The third installment received an 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, the same as the second installment, and three percentage points better than the original. Devoid of protection from the global assassin's guild, John Wick fights for his life on the streets of NY as he's targeted by ruthless killers. But then again, Godzilla is coming the following weekend. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.
