Actor Jason Mitchell axed from 'The Chi'

Actor Jason Mitchell has been dropped from Showtime's The Chi, Netflix's upcoming movie Desperados and Authentic Talent & Literary Management following reports of misconduct allegations. In addition, Mitchell will no longer be starring in the Netflix film "Desperados", in which he was set to star opposite Nasim Pedrad, Anna Camp, and Robbie Amell.

PEOPLE has attempted to reach Mitchell for comment through his representatives.

The Hollywood Reporter further reports that the decision to fire Mitchell from the widely popular series comes after actress Tiffany Boone, who plays his girlfriend in the series, came forward to accuse the star of sexual harassment.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant chain collapses
This controversial plan allows struggling business to restruture debts and shut stores in a desperate bid to stay afloat. The insolvency of Jamie's Italian and its related brands comes amid a torrid time for high street casual dining chains.

According to the website, Jason was first dropped from "Desperados" after producers received information about an alleged off-set incident, which they investigated "Immediately and thoroughly".

Mitchell broke onto the scene in 2015, when he starred as NWA rapper Eazy-E in the musical biopic Straight Outta Compton. Mitchell stars as Brandon, an up-and-coming chef who starts his own food truck.

A rep at Good Universe confirmed his departure from the Netflix film, Deadline reported. He was then dropped from UTA and Authentic, and it was announced that he was being dropped from The Chi. Mitchell also appeared in the films Kong: Skull Island, Mudbound and Detroit; his other TV roles include Forever, Major Crimes and Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams. I hear the actor had previously been under scrutiny over an alleged inappropriate behavior situation on the show involving a female co-star, which had been resolved.
