War Of Will wins Preakness Stakes

War Of Will wins Preakness Stakes

The Preakness Stakes is the second leg of the Triple Crown that includes the Derby and the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in NY on June 8.

A 20-to-1 shot to win the Preakness, Bodexpress threw his jockey, John Velazquez, off right out of the gate.

"That was key", Gaffalione said. That was the key. We just followed Warrior's Charge the whole around there. "I think it's within his grasp". "The horse didn't hesitate, and he finished the job".

Casse, a 10-time trainer of the year in Canada, can't predict how War of Will responds this time, but he knows what it would mean if the horse comes out on top once again.

"This is the Preakness", Casse said.

"I didn't want to look back and see if anyone was coming", Gaffalione said. We go in and fix it, and I guess, what they're telling me - the engineers - the pressure and everything, it takes so much time to build up, clogged, it's just old infrastructure.

"There's a scenario where two or three horses get going and the pace is fairly fast and sets up for a closer". "I just wanted to win".

Last year, Justify won at Pimlico en route to capturing the Triple Crown. But that wasn't the case Saturday after Country House, the elevated victor of the Derby after Maximum Security was disqualified, pulled out of the race due to a respiratory infection.

Huawei will use its own chips against U.S. ban
How important Huawei is in the 5G race? This week's escalation of the U.S. campaign against Huawei has rattled investors. Strategy Analytics analyst Linda Sui says, "I would be surprised if HiSilicon can make it without any US suppliers".

It's time for the Preakness Stakes 2019 today in Baltimore, Maryland. A plane, with a sign that read, 'Stronach Keep Preakness in Baltimore, ' flew over the track throughout the day. Bodexpress also ran an extra lap around the track before being corralled. Track officials say Pimlico needs more than $400 million in repairs and the facility lost almost 7,000 seats earlier this spring after engineers cited structural concerns. The Canada-based Stronach Group, which owns both Pimlico and Laurel Park, hopes to move the race to Laurel after the 2020 event.

"It's a wonderful event", Ray Burton said.

"All's good and we're going to the Belmont?" I kind of jumped sideways, I had my feet out of the iron. "There were some fresh shooters in the Preakness that concerned us a little bit entering the race but he really put his best hoof forward (Saturday)". Instead, it's simply the second Triple Crown race. "They don't even have to win the race to collect".

It's been a hard year for horse racing - and 149-year-old Pimlico, which has deteriorated to the point where the Stronach Group has advocated moving the Preakness to nearby Laurel Park.

"We nearly had it", Everfast jockey Joel Rosario said. "It's multi-factorial. There are a lot of issues there".

Tyler Gaffalione, the jockey of 2019 Preakness Stakes victor War of Will, says the horse "relaxed beautifully" and the victory is surreal.

Gaffalione, a 24-year-old native of Davie, Fla., was on the Churchill Downs backstretch early Sunday morning to work horses and was named to ride eight races.
