Stanley Cup: 60 - May 16

After playing in 13 of a possible 14 games in the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Bruins made quick work of the Carolina Hurricanes, sweeping their Eastern Conference Finals series with the 'Canes.

Their sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference final has afforded them a few extra days to rest up before their third Stanley Cup Final appearance in nine years.

Tuukka Rask and the Boston Bruins stood tall during an early deluge of shots and penalties, patiently waiting for their chance to take over the game. Rask has closed two straight series with shutouts and continued to look the part of a leading Conn Smythe Trophy candidate.

The Bruins will move on to face either the St. Louis Blue or the San Jose Sharks.

Then one big burst put them on the brink of another trip to the Stanley Cup Final. The Hurricanes managed to eliminate the defending Stanley Cup Champions in seven games in the first round. Since 2010, only 19 of the 149 playoff rounds have resulted in a sweep, or 12.8 percent of all series, and over the past 50 years, there are only 19 instances of a series sweep occurring in the conference final (formerly known as the league semifinal) with the sweeping team possessing a 10-9 record in the Stanley Cup final. It finally worked out for them with this gorgeous second-period goal.

As for Boston's offense, it was silent in the first period before coming alive on back to back power play goals in the second. That's the second-most by a Bruins player in one playoff season; Cam Neely scored nine power-play goals in 1991, matching the National Hockey League record set by Mike Bossy in 1981.

Huawei will use its own chips against U.S. ban
How important Huawei is in the 5G race? This week's escalation of the U.S. campaign against Huawei has rattled investors. Strategy Analytics analyst Linda Sui says, "I would be surprised if HiSilicon can make it without any US suppliers".

Pastrnak scored the 15th playoff goal of his career, the second-most by a Bruins player before turning 23 years old; Barry Pederson scored 21. The dagger came when Bergeron and David Krejci assisted Marchand for the game's final goal. The odds-on favorite for a majority of the regular season were swept by the bottom-seeded team in the playoffs in the first round.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy said after Thursday's win that Chara should be good to go for the B's in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. Thirteen members of the Bruins roster have at least five points in the playoffs.

Defenseman Kevan Miller and forward Chris Wagner are doubtful for Game 1 of the Final. They didn't have enough time to fix it for Game 4.

The two shared a laugh and continued to trade compliments before continuing down the line. In Game 4, Carolina just couldn't sustain any pressure. There are also at times questions whether or not the puck went over the high glass in the zone or the shorter glass near the benches.

The defense exuded that most of all.
