Prime Day 2019 doesn't happen until July, but Amazon's biggest single day of sales came a bit early for two of the best-selling products Amazon has ever released.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) On May 16, announced an update to the Fire 7 tablet without any hike in the $50 price tag, and Amazon Fire tablets are known for being very cheap, and yet it's a capable tablet. Fire 7 is still only $49.99 and is available in Black and 3 new colors: Sage, Plum, and Twilight Blue.

The Kids Edition costs £99.99 / $99.99 as before and is also available to pre-order today from Amazon.

Starting with the Fire 7, the tablet features a faster processor than its predecessor.

Hands free Alexa support isn't brand new, but if you're rocking an old model this is a nice upgrade.

Over 10 million kids (and their parents) have enjoyed the award-winning Amazon FreeTime service, which provides the flawless balance between giving kids the content they love, while providing parents peace of mind knowing that what their kids are viewing on their device is age-appropriate.

Bill de Blasio 2020
I know his tricks. "There's plenty of money in this world, there's plenty of money in this country, it's just in the wrong hands". Bill de Blasio speaks to reporters after voting in New York City municipal elections in November 2013, in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Alexa hands-free-When connected to Wi-Fi, simply ask Alexa to check the Mariners score, get a recipe, watch a movie, and more - using just your voice, even when your screen is on standby. Easily toggle Alexa on or off in your device settings.

The new Kids Edition tablets gets the same 2Mp selfie camera, but storage remains fixed at 16GB just as with the previous 7-inch Kids Edition. Amazon boasts that the new Fire 7 is twice as durable as the latest iPad Mini in tumble tests, making it the flawless option for your everyday use. Reading a book, watching a movie, or simply browsing the web is absolutely possible, while the Fire 7 tablet will drag its foot in anything more demanding than that.

At both the front and back of that, buyers will find a 2-megapixel camera capable of capturing video at up to 720p HD.

On the software side of things, Amazon includes all of the usual suspects ranging from its Family Library, Prime Video, Amazon FreeTime, X-Ray, and Blue Shade nighttime and blue light blocking features to its 24/7 free support. It also comes with a one-year subscription to Amazon Fire for Kids Unlimited, which provides access to child-friendly books, videos, apps, games and audiobooks. It's available to try for free for 30 days if you haven't already given it a whirl. This is an insane value, especially as Apple charges $399.99 for the iPad mini!

Along with this adult tablet, there's also a new Kids Edition launching alongside it.

Like many Android tablets, Amazon's Fire 7 tablet doesn't exactly offer the best entertainment experience. It too will be released on the sixth day of next month.
