Jimmy Carter resting 'comfortably' after breaking hip in fall

President Jimmy Carter fell at his Plains, Georgia home Monday morning while preparing for a turkey hunt, according to a release from The Carter Center.

She said that Carter underwent surgery at a medical center in Americus, Georgia. His wife, Rosalynn, is with him at the hospital.

"President Carter said his main concern is that turkey season ends this week, and he has not reached his limit", the Carter Center said in its statement.

Carter, 94, disclosed in 2015 that cancer that had been discovered on his liver and had also been found on his brain. "I've had an exciting and adventurous and gratifying existence".

In New York, one Twitter user's post highlighting Mr Ratburn's gay marriage, was "liked" more than 112,000 times in 21 hours. The educational show targets kids aged four to eight and often tackles hard topics families deal with in their daily lives.

In March, Carter became the oldest-living former president in U.S. history, having survived a bout with cancer in recent years.

He received his first radiation treatment at age 90, and four months later, he was - remarkably - cancer free.

Carter has had some health issues in recent years.

Referencing that meeting, Trump wished Carter well in a tweet later Monday.
