Records were meant to be broken, and that includes the ones set at the global box office.

Over the weekend, Avengers: Endgame surpassed $2.2 billion at the global box office, overtaking James Cameron's Titanic (1997) as the second-highest grossing in history.

Over an image of the Avengers logo upending the legendary Titanic ship, Cameron wrote: 'To Kevin and Everybody at Marvel, An iceberg sank the real Titanic.

James Cameron is no longer the "king of the world" when it comes to the top two spots on the all-time box office record.

Durant's injury, which will be re-evaluated in a week, comes at a particular time of peril for the Warriors. "He's been phenomenal.

Cameron tweeted a note Wednesday to Marvel president Kevin Feige and its employees congratulating the company for its success.

The studio, he says, has shown that the movie industry is alive and well and bigger than ever. Endgame increased its astonishing tally to $2.189 billion, surpassing Titanic's $2.187 billion gross (unadjusted for inflation). While some of us fans have been comparing and debating Endgame to Star Wars, Titanic and Avatar, bear in mind it is all a win for Disney who owns all four franchises.

Those of you that have seen Avengers: Endgame will be very much aware that the scene Robert Downey Jr was filming in these pictures brings an end to the battle between the Avengers and Thanos. "Odd says to Tony 'We're in the Endgame now, ' the way we translated that here was 'No hope", said Anthony, adding as a joke, "'So in Korea is this movie called Avengers: No Hope?'"
