Afghan boy dances to celebrate new prosthetic leg

The boy, five-year-old Ahmad Sayed Rahman, has captured hearts in Afghanistan after a short video of him effortlessly dancing on his new limb was posted this week on Twitter.

Every year, close to 10,000 Afghans are registered with the ICRC for limb-fitting and physical rehabilitation help.

"He's a child and wants to play, he wants to have a leg so is adapting quickly", Sarwari said.

The little one, identified only as Ahmad, is seen celebrating after being fitted with a new prosthetic leg.

Of the ICRC patients who have lost limbs, nearly two-thirds are due to landmines, improvised explosive devices, and other war remnants.
