English sweep as Chelsea, Arsenal reach Europa League final

Arsenal's path to the final was more straightforward, beating Valencia 4-2 thanks to a hat trick from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to complete a 7-3 win on aggregate.

There will be another all English final in Europe this season after Chelsea defeated Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties to advance to the UEFA Europa League final.

Arsenal know they can not now finish in the top four in the Premier League, meaning winning the Europa League is their only route into next season's Champions League.

The prolific Serbian, who could join Real Madrid this summer, produced a cool finish past Kepa Arrizabalaga following some poor defending by David Luiz.

"It is very hard to play in finals and we took our opportunity today which we are happy about". They now sit in 5 place in La Liga, but are just three points away, with two games to go, of that pivotal 4 place position.

Eintracht welcome back Ante Rebic to their team after he missed the first leg, a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt, due to suspension.

Frankfurt enter Thursday off a 6-1 beat down at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend and have not won in their last four games.

Hayden has been one of the standout performers for Newcastle United this season especially since the turn of the year.

"We have played badly in the Premier League over the last month and now we have to use this opportunity".

Aubameyang was the inspiration as Unai Emery reached his fourth Europa League final in five years. Former Sporting Braga defender Elderson Echiejile is the second Nigerian player to make the matchday squad for a Europa League final but he was an unused substitute in his team's narrow loss to Porto in 2011.

This represents a remarkable achievement by the Premier League's top clubs.
