Woman with measles saw 'Avengers: Endgame,' potentially exposed audience

Officials did not reveal whether the patient had been vaccinated against the measles.

Since the start of this year, more than 700 individual cases of the real-life Big Bad have been confirmed in 22 states-including California.

Other moviegoers may have been exposed from 11 p.m.to 4 a.m., the agency said. It's been characterised as the largest outbreak of the preventable disease since 2000, the year that it was declared eliminated from the country.

According to the Los Angeles Times report, after the woman contracted measles, she went to work for multiple days as well as the midnight premiere of Endgame in Fullerton, a city located in Northern Orange County.

The Orange County Health Care agency is now warning people throughout the area that they could have been exposed, especially those who were present at the AMC Theater on Lemon Street on April 25 between 11pm and 4am.

There are four more cases of measles in Pittsburgh. Just four of those people infected 22 others, and majority were reportedly not vaccinated.

Ninety percent of people exposed to the virus - i.e., being in the same room as a measles patient within two hours of them being there - will catch it if they haven't been vaccinated.

Symptoms include rash, high fever, cough and red, watery eyes, according to health officials.

Measles is a highly contagious disease caused by a virus that can spread through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes or if someone comes into direct contact or shares germs by touching the same objects or surfaces.

The resident traveled internationally about two weeks before becoming ill, and this case is not linked to any ongoing measles outbreak in the United States. "'The MMR vaccine is a simple, low-cost and very effective measure to prevent the spread of this serious virus'".
