And, their visit shared striking similarities to other national championship teams.

The Lady Bears are the first women's basketball team to visit the Trump White House; the 2017 and 2018 women's college basketball champions did not.

This is the third time the Lady Bears have won the national championship.

During an exchange in the Oval Office, Trump congratulated the team on their last-minute win over Notre Dame in the final game. The occasion marked the first women's basketball team - college or professional - to visit to the Trump White House.

Baylor University's female basketball coach Kim Mulkey declined President Donald Trump's playful job offer on Monday. Several women's collegiate champions in nonrevenue sports visited the White House in November 2017, along with several men's teams, but the SC team that won the 2017 NCAA women's basketball title declined an offer to take part in that event. "We have received inquiries about a visit to the White House", UVA coach Tony Bennett said in a statement posted to Twitter. "We would have to respectfully decline an invitation".
