'Jeopardy' Champion Winnings: How Much Has James Holzhauer Won So Far?

'Jeopardy' Champion Winnings: How Much Has James Holzhauer Won So Far?

Jeopardy! has been broadcasting since 1964 and Holzhauer is smashing records and on course to smash even more.

Jennings appeared on 74 shows.

Earlier this month, ET caught up with Jennings, who recalled what it was like being on the beloved game show. Understandably, the game was a runaway at that point, and like he'd done in many games before, Holzhauer bet big for his Final Jeopardy wager, and it paid off. On Tuesday night, Holzhauer won $118,816 to pass the million dollar mark. That feat comes during a streak that has already seen the trivia champ break the record for the highest single-game winnings - twice.

However, Holzhauer also set a record for the fastest contestant to reach $1 million, taking 14 games to reach that total.

One final stipulation is that your Nintendo account must be registered to a Gmail address, and not any other email provider. A survey will be sent to participants once the beta ends so that they can provide feedback.

The professional sports gambler wowed the game show's audience again after he won for the 14th time Tuesday (April 23). David Madden is now in that position, having won 19 straight games in 2005, and above him is Julia Collins at 20 games. He went on to claim the top six spots for single-game winnings, according to The Wrap. It's safe to say Holzhauer is a victor, and his buzzer timing is a key strength.

"I'm comfortable risking a lot if I know I have a big edge - sometimes I don't think I have that big edge - but on 'Jeopardy!,' I'm going to get the Daily Double right a lot more often than I'm not going to, so I just want to maximize that bet".

Those two tactics explain why Holzhauer is good at the game, but not why his winnings are so incredibly huge.
