Western Christians mark Easter at al-Quds Holy Sepulchre

British Prime Minister Theresa May on Sunday called for the United Kingdom to stand up for religious freedom in her annual message to mark Easter.

He urged Nigerians to emulate Jesus Christ, who despised the spirit of fear, faced the suffering of the cross with courage.

"For broken homes, the neglected, betrayed, bereaved, prisoners, sick, among others can be restored by the power of His resurrection, the same power that raised Jesus is available for us today, if we can embrace Him", he said.

He explained that the absence of Christ's body in the tomb showed that Jesus could not be contained in the dead and that gives Christians the hope for celebration because the God they worship is a God who lives.

"Easter Sunday changes the history of humanity, for the righteous, death is a mere passageway, not the end, death will not have the final word, but love and God will; Jesus conquered the devil, death, sin and darkness". We're Christians so that we can do not forget to serve the Lord.

Van Graan added: 'We came here to win, but we were beaten by a better side on the day. The club dealt with the matter decisively, quickly and fairly.

"My message is that there is still hope because we know that Christ has risen and is alive so that we may live with Him again".

Pastor Creophas Barore, who led the worldwide service at the Kicukiro-based ADEPR Pentecostal church, preached about the role of women in evangelism given that they are the ones who first witnessed the resurrection of Jesus. "Each of us brings his or her experience of Easter, of death and resurrection", he said in his sermon.

Easter is regarded by many as the foundation of the Christian faith, with Christ's resurrection signifying his victory over death, the triumph of good over evil, and the completion of God's salvation of mankind.

At the Apostolic Faith Church, congregation had a swell time on Sunday evening reflecting on the essence of Easter and Christ's resurrection while members of the choir and orchestra serenaded with Easter Concert.
