Zinedine Zidane Hails Karim Benzema As World's Best After Athletic Bilbao Treble

Both he and the forward have flirted with one another all season and it appears now that the Frenchman has landed his man.

Real Madrid picked up a convincing win against seventh-placed Athletic Bilbao thanks to a Karim Benzema hat-trick on Sunday.

But his sixth season at Real Madrid will surely be his last, with Zidane saying little either to express support or suggest he wants the Welshman to stay beyond the summer.

Benzema headed Madrid in front from Marco Asensio's cross just after half-time and nodded in a second when Athletic goalkeeper Iago Herrerin missed Luka Modric's corner.

Adidas have sponsored 13-time European champions Real since 1998, and are set to extend that relationship with the German sportswear giants in a deal which will reportedly see the club benefit from 20 percent of sales related to their products as well as €9 million of material for their teams.

Do you think Benzema is the best striker in the world at the moment?

U.S. won’t renew sanctions waivers for nations using Iranian oil
The statement said that the UAE and Saudi Arabia had agreed to "take timely action" to ensure that any gap in supply would be met. As a result of this decision, all countries including India would have to bring down its import of oil from Iran by May 2.

"I really like him, but the choice is up to the board".

Asked if this was the best performance since his return as Blancos' coach last month, Zidane said he was particularly impressed with his team's attitude and battling qualities.

With his hat-trick against Athletic Bilbao, Karim has brought up his La Liga tally to 21 goals and has broken a record at the club by scoring Real Madrid's last eight goals without anyone scoring in between.

"He keeps on saying "good morning" rather than "buenos dias" when he arrives at the training ground; that's if he even says anything", Marca said. "I'm very happy about the goals, but Karim will be happier about the victory that we needed a lot, rather than the goals".

What is clear is that Bale will not be at Madrid next season if the club get their way. In the second half, it wasn't quite as hard for us, but I think we played well.
