The Pakistani delegation headed by Imran Khan visited the holy shrine of the 8th Imam of Shias on Sunday afternoon, followed by a meeting with Hojjatolesm Marvi as the new custodian of Imam Reza holy shrine.

Iran has said a Pakistani suicide bomber was behind the attack, which was claimed by the Sunni jihadist group Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice), which Tehran says operates mostly out of bases in Pakistan.

Prime minister Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf party in a series of tweets gave updates about his visit to Iran on the invitation of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

The Foreign Minister said both Pakistan and Iran have also agreed to establish joint border centres to foil the nefarious designs of undesirable elements.

Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif condemned the attack, saying enemies of Pakistan-Iran ties were responsible for it.

Following the massacre, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) lodged a strong protest with Iran over its inaction against the terror groups believed to be involved in the Ormara killings.

The two countries will also form a barter committee so that the goods and needs of the two countries are exchanged and barter accounts are cleared, he said.

Khan said that militant activity at the border could be a source of tension.

Responding to a question, he said the timing of Omara incident is important which shows that the elements behind it do not want peace in the region. At one point Pakistan hosted four million refugees and today we have 2.7 million, he said, adding that Iran has hosted nearly three million.
