Leeds sizzles in lovely Easter Bank Holiday sunshine - but will it last?

Not everywhere will see blue skies, with north-west Scotland and the Northern Isles expected to have some clouds and rain on Saturday.

On Saturday there'll be some overnight mist, fog and low cloud lifting.

Tonight: Rain still hanging around into the evening.

The forecaster said the reason for the warm weather is high pressure with dry and sunny conditions over Europe.

"Easter Sunday and Easter Monday temperature records are likely to be broken".

However, early reports suggest that the roof collapsed under persistent heavy rains. An 11-year-old girl is thought to be among them.

WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY: We'll introduce the chance for a few isolated showers and storms Wednesday with better chances for scattered storms Thursday into Friday. A few stray rain showers could linger across Eastern Kentucky early Sunday morning. Lows of 6 to 9 degrees Celsius. We'll continue a warming trend into Easter Sunday, with highs making it to the upper-70s to right around 80 that afternoon. Showers will mix between rain and snow across the high country.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures develop, with a low of 58 degrees. Northwest winds 10-20 miles per hour will keep it feeling cool and crisp as highs climb into the mid 60s.

Others have expressed concern about the high temperatures, tweeting: "I think the new story here is the fact that the planet is about to be incinerated with climate change".

"Dry and warm with hazy sunshine developing in many areas with afternoon temperatures of 18 to 22 or possibly 23 degrees Celsius, highest in more southwestern and western counties." a Met Eireann statement read.
