The Masters 2019: Zach Johnson hilariously hits ball on a warm-up swing

Zach Johnson hits on the 18th hole on Thursday during the first round for the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Ga.

Standing on the tee box at the iconic Azalea, the thirteenth hole of Augusta National, the 2007 champion sat at +2 and really needing to make some progress if he was to make the cut at the 83rd edition of golf's first major of the year. Only that's exactly what Johnson did when he made a practice swing, hitting his ball with the toe of the driver, which caused it to ricochet off the tee marker and bounce a few yards forward. "I thought I'd done it all, but now I know I have", said the 43-year-old, who added Kuchar would not let him forget the gaffe. So Johnson re-teed and found the fairway.

After the initial shock the Englishman said Johnson saw the amusing side.

Only his pride was hurt, since he was able to re-tee without a penalty because he did not intend to move the ball.

On Saturday, runs flowed aplenty from the bat of openers from all the four teams taking part in the Indian Premier League 2019 . On Tuesday, Rohit Sharma gave Mumbai Indians and India noteworthy injury alarm when he limped out of MI's training session.

"I don't think I could do it again if I even tried", Johnson said.

Playing in consecutive groups during the second round Friday, Kisner and Johnson had some, let's just say, interesting moments.

But because Johnson had yet to tee off, the ball was not technically in play when he made his swing, meaning the ruling came down to his intent.

And the unusual incident didn't shake Johnson's concentration; he birdied the hole to move to 1 over for the tournament.
