Portland takes Game 1 against Oklahoma

The Oklahoma City Thunder were coming into the playoffs with plenty of momentum after capping off the regular season with five straight wins, but they were stopped in the tracks by the Trailblazers in a 104-99 loss in Game 1. Despite the points output, he shot 8-for-24 from the field and 4-for-15 from three-point range - not exactly efficiency at it's finest.

CJ McCollum added 24 points and Enes Kanter contributed 20 points and 18 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who led by as many as 19 points in the first half. I was like, 'Let's just stay solid, keep competing, keep playing hard, ' Lillard said.

It was the first postseason meeting between the teams since the Thunder moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City.

Drummond threw a kiss to the Fiserv Forum crowd as he headed to the showers but it might as well be the kiss of death for the Pistons against the NBA's top team (60 wins) in the regular season.

Lillard went nine-of-21 from the field on his way to 30 points in 38 minutes, adding four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Led by guards Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, they stormed back to a No. 3 seed this year.

Though Kanter would ultimately deliver the final blow with a driving finish to put Portland up 100-94 with 11 seconds on the clock, that Lillard three seemed to suck the wind out of yet another furious Thunder rally.

Tornado damage reported in Monroe County
Tens of thousands of utility customers are without power as powerful storms roar through the mid-Atlantic region. Downed trees and damage to buildings and a transmission tower were reported, said meteorologist Monique Sellers.

"Any time you're going up against a team you played for, in the most important series of the year, you're going to want to play well", Lillard said. "And everybody is going to be ready".

"We've gone two playoffs without winning a game so obviously it's a good feeling to get back on the winning side, but it's only one game".

Kanter was definitely key to Portland's game one victory, and he could very well be a huge part of their playoff run moving forward.

Also, Kyrie Irving scored 20 points as the Boston Celtics shrugged off the injury absence of Marcus Smart to defeat the Indiana Pacers 84-74.

The Thunder have not gotten past the opening round of the playoffs for the past two seasons.
